Best locations for shooting: sea, old town and river

The most popular spots for a love story are My Khe and Non Nuoc beaches in Da Nang, as well as old Hoi An, which is about 30 km away, that is, about 40 minutes by road. It is convenient to shoot on the beach at dawn and towards sunset, when the light is soft and there are no hard shadows. In Hoi An, a different scenario works: yellow facades, narrow streets, bridges, cafes and lanterns that give a recognizable Vietnamese atmosphere without complex staging.

If you want to add some action, a boat on the Thu Bon River works great: it's a beautiful subject for paired shots, especially in the evening hours. For a more natural backdrop, the Son Tra Peninsula with viewpoints and green slopes, the Marble Mountains with stones and stairs, as well as the area near An Bang - if you are staying closer to Hoi An - are suitable. You can combine both the sea and the old city in one route, but it is important not to overload the program.

When is the best time to plan a shoot?

The best season for a love story in Da Nang and Hoi An is from February to August, and the most comfortable months for photography are usually March to May. At this time there is less rain, the light is more stable, and it is easier to shoot in windows before 9:00 in the morning or after 16:30, when the heat is already gone. Sunset here is around 17:45, so the evening timing should be calculated in advance, especially if you want to catch both the beach and Hoi An in one day.

From September to January the weather becomes less predictable with the possibility of rain, humidity and shorter windows of daylight. This does not mean that shooting is impossible, but it is better to make the route shorter and have a backup option under the roof. If you come during the high season, especially on holidays, it is better to book a photographer and transfer in advance so as not to depend on free slots and traffic jams.

What to wear for a love story in Da Nang and Hoi An

Clothes greatly influence the final shot, especially if you are filming both at sea and in the old city. Light, plain fabrics work well for the beach: white, beige, milky, pastel shades. For Hoi An, you can take more expressive images - a dress with movement, a suit, silk textures, details without small ripples. If you are planning to shoot near a boat or in the street part of the old city, it is better to choose comfortable shoes, because the route will involve walking on cobblestones and steps.

You should not take clothes with large logos, too colorful prints and very dark sets for daytime shooting by the sea. In the frame, such things often clash with the background.
