In Da Nang, a yacht most often sails along one of four scenarios: along the Son Tra Peninsula, along the bay with a turn to the beaches of My Khe and Non Nuoc, at sunset on calm waters, or for the whole day to the Cham Islands. For each route, not only kilometers are important, but also current, wind, visibility under water and time of departure: in the dry season from February to August, the sea is usually calmer, and the best months for a walk are March-May.

If you need a short and beautiful way out without a long road, take the Son Tra route: it gives a good overview of the coast and does not require a lot of time. If the goal is snorkeling and a more “marine” format, it is better to look towards the Cham Islands. Route along the Son Tra Peninsula

The Son Tra Peninsula lies northeast of Da Nang's city center and provides one of the city's most recognizable sea views: coastline, green slopes, harbor area and open water. This is a good route if you want to go out to sea without a long passage and see the city from the water without going far from the shore.

This exit is usually chosen for small companies, filming, private meetings and short evening trips. In fact, this is the most convenient format when you have 2-3 hours and want to combine a yacht with dinner in the city or a walk along the embankment near the Dragon Bridge, where a fire show takes place on weekends.

For guests who are going out on a yacht for the first time, this is the most predictable format: there is less open sea, traffic is easier to tolerate and it is easier to plan a vacation with children or older relatives.

This route usually includes 1-2 stops for swimming or photography, and in some cases a short exit to quieter areas of water near the shore. If you just want a beautiful walk without a long transfer, this is a workable option: you don’t spend a day on the road and get a clear maritime scenario within Da Nang.

Cham Islands: Snorkeling Route and Day on the Water

If you want not just a walk, but a full-fledged sea day, the route to the Cham Islands is best suited. The archipelago lies off the coast of Central Vietnam and is known for its clear waters, reefs and snorkeling opportunities. This is no longer a format for a couple of hours, but for the whole day, leaving in the morning and returning in the late afternoon.

For this route, it is important to allow time for the transition, stops and rest by the water. Usually people go to Chamy during the dry season, when the sea is calmer and visibility under water is better. We check the forecast in advance because in Da Nang and the nearby coast the wind can change quickly, especially outside the peak months of March-May.

How to choose a route for your task

The choice of route depends not only on the budget, but also on what you want to get from going to sea. If you want a short, private walk with an emphasis on views, take Son Tra. If you want calm water and a universal scenario for company, the bay is suitable. If marine activity and snorkeling are your priority, it is better to immediately bookmark the Cham Islands.

We also take into account the logistics around the city: in Da Nang, a yacht trip can be conveniently combined with dinner in the Tran Thi Ly Bridge area or with a walk along the embankment, and after a day flight you can catch the evening Hoi An - the old town and the Thu Bon River are about 30 km away, the journey takes about 40 minutes. What affects departure time and route

On the water in Da Nang, the weather decides a lot. The dry season from February to August tends to have more stable seas, with March to May often providing the most comfortable sailings. This is especially important for access to the Cham Islands: there the difference between a calm day and a windy day is more noticeable.

Another factor is the time of day. In the morning the water is calmer, in the afternoon it is easier to do a daytime route with swimming, and in the evening short walks to sunset are good.
